Taylor Lovett is the Director of Engineering at 10up, one of the biggest WordPress centric agencies in the world. Having been involved with WordPress since 2007, he is the creator of ElasticPress, contributed to WordPress core, authored popular plugins (downloaded hundreds of thousands of times), and spoken at many conferences across multiple continents. He is a lover of all things open-source. Other than developing web applications, Taylor is a lover of music. He enjoys listening to blues and jazz music as well as playing acoustic fingerstyle guitar.

Niels Lange helps small and mid size businesses in turning ideas and visions into custom-built WordPress and WooCommerce applications.
After his study in computer science in Germany he moved to The Netherlands, where he worked for several companies as a web developer and a business analyst. Since mid 2014 he’s been traveling through South-East Asia where he fights bugs between palm trees and rice fields. In his free time he enjoys spicy food and reads the Codex. Recently he fell in love with the Genesis Framework.

Dat Hoang lives in Vietnam, but works with a truly global remote team, OnTheGoSystems, as a WPML supporter. He focuses on helping his clients, and writing documents to make their multilingual sites thrive.

Dat’s involvement with WordPress runs deep. He organizes and frequently speaks at the Saigon (Vietnam) WordPress meetup group. He is also a translation validator and contributor to the Vietnamese WordPress.

When the laptop is closed, he enjoys travelling and shooting photos.

Mayo Moriyama is a freelance front-end engineer from Japan, where almost 80% of CMS websites use WordPress. She started her career in Cambodia helping the tourism industry and NGOs in building and creating their web sites. In 2013, she returned to Tokyo and joined the local WordPress community, became a translator, a Meetup organizer and a lead organizer of WordCamp Tokyo 2014.

Joe Boydston β€œruns” WordPress.com. Well, not the whole thing. But He works for Automattic, the company who does. When he’s not running super long distances to visit WordCamps, he helps businesses make the most of their WordPress.com sites. He blogs about his running adventures at crazyrunningguy.com and is co-organizer of the Sacramento WordPress Meetup group. He lives near Lake Tahoe in Northern California with his wife and 2 kids.

Tom Howard – Tom is a product designer & front-end engineer from Washington, DC. After 5 years of building on WordPress, Tom co-founded a modern WP hosting platform that solves some of his common WP headaches. Tom previously worked at FactoryX in San Francisco, a product studio founded by Tom Chi (GoogleX co-founder and Google Glass inventor). Tom is currently living in Saigon, Vietnam, which is great despite the lack of delicious Tacos.

Emerson Maningo is from Cebu, Philippines. He works as Systems Developer for OntheGoSystems, the makers of WPML, Toolset and ICanLocalize. He is a great fan of open source projects like Linux. And actively contributes to WordPress core and plugins. When not coding or facing the computer, he loves spending time with his wife and family.

A web designer and developer who code his designs and also design in code. Always looking for ways to put a (good) dent in the world. A freelancer, a volunteer, an entrepreneur, a believer. Believes in the power of ideas and in following the whispers of the heart. One of those whispers led to www.KomunitasTaufan.org/en/, a small nonprofit supporting children with cancer and other high-risk illnesses. Call for Speakers

WordCamp Denpasar (Bali) is currently looking for speakers!

WordCamp Denpasar, like all WordCamps, is an event run by the local community to share all things WordPress. We bring together bloggers, designers, developers, small business owners and entrepreneurs who are passionate about the web and digital, and we want you to share your knowledge with our community.

Format

  • Full length sessions will be approximately 20 minutes long, with 10 minutes afterward for audience questions. Talks can be in Indonesian or in English.

What We Are After

We’re interested in the following areas:-

  • Running a WordPress site. Cool things you can do with WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Development. Coding talks aimed at new to medium developers to help improve their skills.
  • UX and Design. Building sites with striking designs, accessibility and improving user experience.
  • Workflows. and tips and tricks to become more productive.
  • Business Talks. Stories of things you’ve learned in your WordPress journey.

This is not an exhaustive list, if you have an idea that isn’t mentioned above, we would still love to hear from you, contact us if you wish to discuss your talk beforehand.

Remember, you don’t have to be an expert to talk at a WordCamp. We want to hear thoughts from all areas of the WordPress community, so we would be keen to hear from you even if you’ve never spoke before.

Talk Submission

  • Please fill in the form below to submit your talk idea.
  • Feel free to submit more than one talk, but please fill in separate forms for each talk.
  • All talks will be recorded for wordpress.tv, and all successful speakers will be required to sign an A/V release form.
  • The closing dates for submission will be 30th September at 3.59pm UTC.
  • Slides will need to be submitted to the WordCamp Denpasar team before 12th November.
  • As a non-profit event, we are unable to pay for travel & accommodation.
